Might as well send your money directly to Bosch and bye-pass the hard work.
Bosch are usually a hit with me, they have failed badly with this machine. The line feed is extremely poor, manual manipulation is the name of the game, the spool and cap has had more attention than a Premier footballer’s knee; the cap sticks in place and is difficult to remove; the result is a very frustrating several minutes until you decide to do something else that’s easier in the garden.
Read the reviews then look elsewhere until Bosch listen and improve their model instead of the easy root of take the money and run.

Just been trying to use this product and have lost count of how many times the line has broken off inside the spool cartridge. You have to remove spool cover, line cover, then feed the line back through the line cover then back through the spool cover, then re-fit the spool cover. My fingers have turned green with grass juice and I am fed up!
Also – no auto line feed!!! You have to press it on the ground every time you want more line – which is a total pain and there is always too much which means that bits break off every time you re-start it.

It seemed a good budget buy. It’s easy to use & ours has worked hard for two years keeping the gardens of two houses looking neat.
The major problem has been getting spares, there are plenty of stockists of trimmers but few of them sell Bosch parts. Consequently I’ve ended up using other brands of trimmer line & this does affect performance. Finally the spool assembly has broken. The rest of the trimmer is fine & has plenty of life in it, but it may be easier simply to throw it away & start again.
